Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. What this policy covers

UK law (PECR) applies not only to cookies but to any technology that stores information on or accesses information from your device — including browser localStorage, sessionStorage and similar mechanisms. This policy covers all such technologies used by BlinkaRide.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include browser localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data locally in your browser. They help the platform function correctly, keep you signed in and remember your preferences.

3. Technologies we use

BlinkaRide uses only technologies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking or analytics cookies that identify you across sessions.

Note: This list reflects our current understanding of production technologies. We audit this periodically. If you notice a discrepancy, please contact us.

[Stripe]Cookie / storageStripeOperator billing portal only — not loaded for passenger journeys; audit in progress[TBC][TBC — audit needed]

Google Maps and Stripe are the two areas where a browser-side audit is still needed. This table will be updated once that audit is complete.

4. Do we need your consent?

Strictly necessary technologies do not require your consent under PECR — they are required for the platform to function. We do not currently use analytics, advertising or any other non-essential cookies or tracking technologies, so no consent banner is shown.

If we introduce non-essential technologies in the future (such as analytics tools), we will update this policy, implement an appropriate consent mechanism, and give you a genuine choice before setting them.

5. Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will affect how the platform functions — for example, you will not be able to stay signed in to the agency portal.

6. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the production technology audit is complete or if we introduce new technologies. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
